Xmas celebration at Cindy's house! Merry Xmas!

Xmas eve and the first time our company has given us an early release at 3pm. As usual every year, our skaters gang will gather together to celebrate and do gift xchange. We arranged to meet up at Cindy house at night and so I went Orchard for some shopping before I proceed down to meet them. Orchard was so crowded as usual during this festive season as u will see many people going down to do some last minute Christmas shopping. I also went to Kinokuniya to buy some Japanese books too for my nxt year's study. So coincidentally, I met my colleague who also came down to Orchard after work for some last minute shopping and so went off with her to take the MRT as we are going the same direction.

This year we had "Zi Cha" for dinner, all thanks to Cindy's mother who ordered the food and arranged everything for us. She is so friendly and keep asking us if we had enough, very nice of her =) After makan, some of them had games and some of us sat down and chat. A very great and memorable gathering this year too cos we even connect internet to chat with Jimmy live in Australia! Was so funny as they keep playing around in front of the web camera and can see Jimmy was very excited too, hee =)

Hope everyone enjoy the night and have a Merry Christmas! Now is the time to countdown to the next holiday, New Year!! Yeah!

Xmas celebration with JCS Classmates in Sentosa Coasta Sands =)

One of my Japanese classmates book a chalet in Coasta Sands just to gather our Japanese class for Xmas celebration. After two years of studying together, some of them have decided to stop to continue next year due to studies and work. So next year probably only a few of us will continue with JCS school for the language studies. Though less than half the class turn up for this but it was still quite fun =)

Wii at Snow House

Today is the start of a series of outings in line for my weekend and coming festive holiday. Today started with a gaming session at Joseph's house of Nintendo Wii which he bought not long ago. It was fun but I still feel that this console is good for group gatherings but not for solo play =P

Post Marathon Celebration =)

Went to Ichiban Boshi restaurant in Esplanade after work to celebrate post StanChart run =) Went with a few colleagues who took part in the Standard Chartered marathon and we had japanese cruisine this time. The food is quite good and I always like Japanese food =P It was a runner's gathering as they have been my running kakis for my years in Creative. We will still discussing whether to run the full marathon nxt year as some of them only took part in the half marathon this year. I think I will still go for it nxt year, it is really a great torturing feeling to complete a marathon, with all the pain in the leg =P

We also went to the Max Brenner Chocolate Bar in Esplanade, the very first time I enter the shop and have dessert there. The ambience is not bad and the chocolate taste good too =) Next time can jio friends to go there

Congrats to Guowei!

Rush down from work to Orchard Park View Hotel to attend Guowei's wedding. The ambience is very nice, and I quite like it. This is a mini JC gathering as several of us turn up for his wedding dinner and we had a short talking session about the past and present. He also mention about how he met his wife from a dating website, check it out www.match.com. It is a good investment for singles out there to make, haha =P

We also began talking about our Tok Cok Book. For those who don't know, this is a book which we created to write rubbish and stories in it during lecture times in JC. We are a bunch who seldom pay attention in lectures and will start writing stories to pass around for each of us to continue the lines =P Now, this book is under the care by me and they were saying I should bring it around for every JC gathering, hee. Also I decided to find time to scan the whole book into the web someday, my pet project =P

Dept Event Day!

Again being arrowed to be in the welfare committee of the department, we finally organized the first event for the department ever since various departments and groups split up to form into this product department. Only got notice of organizing this event last Wednesday and we manage to settle everything in only a few days, all thanks to our committee head who make all the bookings and stuff. We also went out to IMM to buy the gifts for the event last friday after work, was really very rush.

It was almost a half working day for everyone in the department and the first time an event can be held during office hours =P We started to have lunch and award giving ceremony for long service award.Following which, we had a short talk by our boss and a movie session.

Then it is the final highlight of the day which is the Cosmic Bowling session at Chevron.

I did not turn up for this because was busy debugging my software with a vendor and so have to pass my task in the event to my fellow committee members to handle. I drop by only at 5pm to see how everyone is enjoying and took some videos also and I went back after staying for half an hour to settle my work. Oh yah, here is the committee =)

Busy week

Been through quite a busy week trying to stabilize the software to go for the next build stage. Today even went back to work to try to finish up some stuff, work until 4pm. Luckily this time I am more prepared, I even went to buy a mini fan to bring back to office because my office has no aircon on weekends! The previous time I went back I had a hard time bearing the stuffiness =( I also brought in a portable speaker to blast music while working, the feeling was so much betta =P

I think I will have to work OT more often than before from now onwards but then holiday season is here. So many holidays are coming, I wonder if I will have the mood to work so late =P

Back to Singapore...Sad...

Just landed back in Singapore not long ago and now back at home, waiting for hair to dry in order to sleep and work the next day. Feeling quite sad to come back so fast as I miss the food and people there. Didn't have much chance to play with my young cousins as they are busy helping out the wedding too. Nevermind lah, go again next year =)

Oh yah, the flight back to Singapore is unforgettable as the plane plunges slightly two times during the journey which made everyone scream. This is the first time I had such a choppy flight.

German Beer Restaurant

After some shopping, we are brought to a well known German Beer Restaurant in Bangkok. There are food, beer and performance. The food and beer is good! The performance are great too! There are singers, Thai dance, acrobatic acts and even Chinese mask changing act. An Eyeopener!

The Thai King everyone respects

You can really see that Thai people respect and love their King as they don the yellow color shirts every Monday. He is known to be a very good King who does alot of things to help the Thai people and the country and everyone listens to him. The coming Wednesday, 5th of December is his coming 80th birthday and you can see alot of decorations to celebrate this great occasion.

This is a portrait of the Thai King on the bridge to MBK. Respect!

Uncle Lek and Auntie Uam Wedding

This is the 2nd day of Uncle Lek and Auntie Uam wedding and today is the traditional chinese dinner. There are slight differences in the Thai Chinese way of holding a wedding dinner, they took photos at the door with each coming guest before they get into the ballroom.

Here is Uncle Lek and Auntie Uam.
More photos of the weddingAnd me first time in suit =)

Painful day...

My knee and leg muscle are damn pain and basically I am limping around Bangkok the whole day. It was especially painful when climbing up and down the bridge stairs, the feeling is horrible =( haha but being on a holiday, I can just forget the pain away. Went to MBK to do some shopping and ate some japanese food which is so cheap over there before we head back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding dinner!

We are in Bangkok!

Reached Bangkok at 7pm yesterday evening with my brother. My knee and leg was damn ache and pain from the run but I endure the flight to Bangkok. Aunt Ple came to pick us up and we had some thai cruisine at the airport before we head back to the hotel. Was dead tired by then and my brother and I chose to stay in the hotel and not go to the night bazaar to meet up my family and 2nd auntie's family. Concussed not long after we lay on the bed, haha

Completed my first marathon!

Very happy to say that I managed to complete my first marathon. Initially thought it will be damn tough but nevertheless I now feel that it can be achieved, really. Though I ran till my leg was cramped in the 30km mark, I manage to walk the last 10 km back to the finish line. The walk alone took me about 2 hrs and I manage to complete the whole marathon in 5hr 30min. Not really fast but really a good start. Think I gonna train hard for the nxt one to better my personal timing =)

Ha..now my whole leg is aching and my knees are in pain. But I need to get ready to go to airport soon to fly to Bangkok, Yeah! I will endure all the pain to get myself to Bangkok cos I am going on holiday, haha =)

Countdown to Singapore Marathon...after which Bangkok off I go =)

Yes, it is finally here. Tomorrow is the Singapore Marathon, my first (and maybe the last? =P) marathon I ever take part. It is a physical and mental challenge for me as I always been slack and lazy. Frankly speaking, up till now, I am not mentally prepared to run 42km. Let's see how tomorrow =) I think I better start to gear up my mind to make it mentally prepared. Anyway, I hope I can complete the race in 6 hrs...hopefully =)

One great motivating factor for tomorrow will be my flight to Bangkok to attend my Uncle's wedding. Taking a 5:30pm flight, so I guess I will have time to get back home to take a shower before I head to the airport for the flight. Will be a bit rush though but I think I can make it =)

Busy...busy...

Thought after my japanese exam, I will have more time to do and learn my own stuff. But to the contrary, I am more busy with my work. Been doing overtime for several days just to make sure my modules are stable enough to be sent for testing so that I can go off to Bangkok with ease. But think the project is too integrated with everybody's modules, end up a single change from someone's module can greatly affect mine, been testing and debugging for everyone, haiz...

Sunday is the Singapore marathon, have only trained till 16km. Think this is going to be a tough race for me, both physically and mentally. Let's hope for the best =P

A Drop Not Too Much...

Just came back from Ruifu & Liyi's wedding dinner at Rasa Sentosa. It boosts a very nice scenery and ambience for wedding but it is a bit inconvenient though. Luckily got Desmond who drove there and give us a lift to the dinner and back when we left. Anyway, Congratulations to the couple on this big day! Really happy for them =)

Also tonight got to meet up with my EE classmates who we never met for quite some time already. It was quite a nice gathering =) Ha I also drank quite a number of glasses of red wine tonight. Lost count of how much I drank, think got 7 to 8 glasses, but then they only fill each glass slightly more than half a glass. So overall, still okay, but was shocked I can drink so much still =P
